Barber-Nichols Recognized for Injury and Illness Prevention Program

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recently approved Barber-Nichols for participation in its Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). SHARP participation is reserved for small businesses with exemplary injury  and illness prevention programs deemed models for worksite safety and health.

BNI is honored to be a part of the SHARP Program which aids us in providing the best working environment for our employees and the best products for our customers. Barber-Nichols Inc. (BNI) worked with Colorado State University’s Occupational Health and Safety Consultation Service on the development of its safety program and had no recordable injuries or illnesses in 2013. Leading up to BNI’s SHARP acceptance, the company made significant investments to enhance facility safety, implemented 6S methodology, and implemented online Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for compliance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).
